Sketch-A-Day 002

June 29, 2008 // printer paper, ballpoint pen, Photoshop

… yeah I know this is crap. I didn’t say it would be fabulous only that it would be daily. I’ve been having lots of drawing failures today so this is about as good as it gets. The source is some random photography site I found on StumbleUpon.

I have no clue if I’ll actually keep this up but I thought it might be fun to try it again.

Zelda Exchange 3 / Gifts June 15, 2008

Filed under: fan art, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 8:57 am

(I’m lazy so I’m just going to cut and paste my write up from the LJ community where we do the gift exchange)
Title: Tea Time
For: Kotukawi
Request: Zelda and true-form Midna
Medium: Ballpoint Pen / Photoshop / Wacom Tablet
Game(s): Twilight Princess
Character(s)/Pairing: Midna/Zelda (ever so slightly blushy girl cheeks)
Rating: G
Warnings: Fluffy pink girl stuff Oo;
Creator’s Notes: I think this is technically attempt number three. While I was fond of the first one and spent several hours on it there was just something freaky wrong with Zelda’s face that I couldn’t get right so I trashed the whole thing and started over… THEN I was planning on a fluffy little shoujo-ai type one page comic but I ran out of time (perhaps I should still do this later?) and um.. then settled on using what I planned to be the first panel from it for my gift. At any rate, I hope that you enjoy it

Title: Medli
By:
For:
Request: Anything with Medli
Medium: Ballpoint Pen / Photoshop / Wacom Tablet
Game(s): Wind Waker
Character(s)/Pairing: Medli
Rating: G
Warnings: Um…?
Creator’s Notes: I drew and colored this in like an hour this evening after I got up from an after work nap so excuse the craptasticness of this piece… I just felt bad because Medli was his first choice and I know how hard it is to find art when you like a side character. I seriously suck at cute stuff.

~*~Note~*~
If anyone is curious about the brush set that I used on the background it can be found at the following blog: http://designfruit.com/jasongaylor/blog/2007/01/17/japanese-foliage/
They’re very large and clean so I highly recommend them as they are free for personal use.

ZAP! Project ~ Preview Page

Filed under: comic, fan art — Hemisphere @ 8:43 am

Wow… I’ve been seriously neglecting my little blog here. I just noticed that I’ve got quite a few things to post that I haven’t added so my apologies to anyone who has this as a subscription as I’m going to spam you.

This piece is part of a short 5 page comic that I did for the small doujinshi group that goes by the name ZAP! (The Zelda Anthology Project) I figure once the comic itself has been out of rotation for a bit I’ll probably post the whole thing as it’s kind of silly.

Be sure to check it out here: http://anthology.mudora.com/

Series: The Legend of Zelda
Media: Ball point pen and Photoshop

Filed under: fan art, Sketch, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 4:56 pm

Yep. Lots of ATLA around my household if you can’t tell. Um… at any rate I’ve been in a huge drawing rut and I’ve been trying to slowly but surely dig myself out. Hopefully there will be more drawings coming in the near future.

Darkly dreaming of dear Dexter~~ November 5, 2007

Filed under: fan art, Sketch, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 9:27 pm

I love Dexter. Seriously. It’s surpassed my love of Heroes. I’m currently depressed about the fact that I do not have Showtime and that they are not offering the Season 2 episodes on iTunes just yet. Sad. This deviation too very little time as is obvious but I had to express my fandom nerd love of it. I really need to work on my drawing skills… I’m such a slacker… with a… ponytail. Go figure.

Zelda Exchange Round 2 Submission November 3, 2007

Filed under: fan art, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 10:25 am

I’m a member of a LiveJournal community centered around exchanging Legend of Zelda fan-art, fan-fiction, etc etc and this was my first round of participation. I had a lot of fun with this so I’m excited about participating in future rounds.

Title: Speechless
For: http://gloriantes.deviantart.com/
Request: Link/Midna
Medium: Canson Sketch 12″x12″ sketch paper, Mirado Black Warrior Pencil, Adobe Photoshop CS
Game(s): The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Character(s)/Pairing: Link / Midna
Rating: PG(?)
Warnings: Spoiler concerning the end of Twilight Princess
Creator’s Notes: This was an experiment using a tutorial on making colors in Photoshop look like watercolor. Many many thanks to http://cyen.deviantart.com/ for giving me some pointers (cyen is all about kicking my butt about his cap) Um… otherwise I drew Midna without the headgear as I figure without the hood it doesn’t have any way to stay up there.

I also did a quick doodle of Shad this evening which was http://gloriantes.deviantart.com/ ’s second request so I figure I’ll add it as um… ‘bonus material’?

Now this one… I’m _attempting_ to color it too but it looks like crap. At any rate here is the sketch:

Aang doodle October 14, 2007

Filed under: fan art, Sketch, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 9:22 pm

This was a quick doodle that I was messing around with tonight. I think I managed to make him look pretty close to 12 so I’m pleased with that. I’m still planning on making something for Avatar that I take some serious time on but the idea just hasn’t struck me yet. That… and I need to practice some more first. This was done with pencil then Photoshop CS.

Avatar: The Last Airbender fan art / Katara October 13, 2007

Filed under: fan art, Digital Media — Hemisphere @ 10:58 pm

Well, this was completed this afternoon so it’s not exactly a masterpiece by any means but I just needed to take a break from drawing non stop Zelda fan art. Avatar: The Last Airbender is an absolutely wonderful series and I highly recommend it.

This was done in Photoshop CS (just like everything else I do)

I’d really like to take some time and plan out a nice piece of Avatar fan art to work on my composition skills and well.. let’s face it. I suck at drawing teenagers so it’d be a fun challenge.
